Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Does Beltway brew its own beers?
Beltway has and may continue to brew one-off batches of its own beer to showcase the talents of our team and capabilities of our system. However, these beers will only be available in our tap room or very limited distribution and are not the main focus at Beltway. Beltway’s main focus is being a host brewery dedicated to partner brewing and contract brewing for our clients. That could mean new breweries that need help increasing production to get their products to market, or it could be established breweries that have maximized their production capacity and need to brew more beer to keep up with demand until they can expand their own operation.
2. What is the minimum amount of beer I can brew with Beltway?
Our minimum is 30 BBLs (barrels). That is equal to 60 kegs of beer or approximately 390 cases of 12oz bottles or cans. We can also do 60 BBL or 90 BBL batches.
3. Can anyone brew beer at Beltway?
No. You need to have either a TTB Brewer’s Notice or TTB Wholesaler’s License to brew with us. You will also need to have any required state licensure as well.
4. How much does it cost to brew a 30 BBL batch of beer at Beltway?
We like to answer this question by comparing it to buying a car. Are you looking for a practical commuter car? A pickup truck? A handmade luxury car? A two-seat European sports car? No two batches of beer are the same and things like labor, special processes, and fermenter time all play a role in the pricing of your process.
5. Does Beltway keg, bottle or can beer?
Yes. We can do all three methods of packaging at Beltway. Our iDD “Squire Plus 2” can clean, sanitize, and fill half barrel kegs and sixtel (1/6 BBL) kegs. For bottling and canning, we call in our trusted mobile vendors.
6. Does Beltway have a Tasting / Tap Room?
7. What kind of beers do you serve in the Tasting / Tap Room?
Our Tap Room showcases the beers we brew for our contract partners. The beers rotate often depending on what might be going on in the brewery. Since we have clients from all over, you can be sure to find beers at Beltway that you can’t find anywhere else locally! Come by often to see what we have to offer and check our Facebook page for posts about our current tap lists.
8. I’m ready to brew beer with Beltway. How do I get started?
Now that you have TTB and required state licensure, you’re ready to enter into a agreement with Beltway. You will also need to provide your recipe(s) or a good idea of what kind of beer you’d like to brew. We can help with the recipe formulation, if need be. Email us at info [at] beltwaybrewco.com, and we will send you a PDF with more detailed information on how we work with our clients. Cheers!
